Dr. Chao

Hey guys!

I’m so excited to be sharing some tips and info with you all about eye health, glasses, contacts, and everything in-between. I know that it can be hard to sift through the web, “mystic medicine”, and, just plain kerfuffle -- so follow our blog for the 411 on all things ocular.

A bit about me:

I fell in love with optometry the same day that I got my glasses: who knew that there were leaves on trees! I realized that as an optometrist, we have the ability to make an instantaneous difference in patients’ lives through prescribing glasses and contacts. After graduating from UCLA, I pursued optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA and completed a residency program in Ocular Disease, Specialty Contact Lenses, and Low Vision Rehabilitation at the West Los Angeles Veterans’ Affairs Hospital. During my residency, I had the incredible opportunity to treat a wide variety of eye conditions, which often times were the result of other systemic diseases. Then, it hit me: the eyes really are the window to the soul.

During my free time, you’d be able to find me at the beach or at the gym (I’m obsessed). I love curling up with a good book, catching up with friends on the endless hiking trails that LA has to offer, and exploring hidden gems in the city.

“Eyecon” not wait to share all things eye with you!
